Wisconsin man killed in one-car crash in Dorset

DORSET — Vermont State Police are investigating a one-car crash that killed a Wisconsin man in Dorset Friday night.

Police said Thomas Deyo, 50, of LaCrosse, Wis. was driving east on Morse Hill Road in the area of the Pine Road intersection when his car failed to negotiate a curve to the right. His vehicle, an Audi A6, then traveled off the north shoulder of the pavement and into the trees. Police said their investigation indicates that Deyo's car hit several trees before it became airborne, hit another few trees in the air, and then landed on its roof.

The crash was reported at approximately 7:53 p.m. Friday, and Vermont State Police, Bennington County Sheriff's Department, Northshire Rescue as well as Dorset and East Dorset fire departments all responded. Deyo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vermont State Police continue to investigate the crash. Anyone with information should call Trooper Sandberg at 802-442-5421 or email him at thomas.sandberg@vermont.gov.
