Students from the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center are combining their efforts to work on the splash pad project at the Four Corners, helping to build the site's stage and a fence between the park and North Street. The effort is "part of that movement of making our town beautiful," said Nicole Sauer, educational and community outreach coordinator for the school. "It's like a live, working lab." The splash pad, under construction in Merchant's Park near the intersection of North and Pleasant streets, will feature an aesthetically pleasing concrete design with water features as well as landscaping, a stone border, and a stage, along with a smaller, separate splash pad for young children.
