Trio Bourgas to perform Sept. 21
MANCHESTER — Trio Bourgas, named for the city on the Black Sea where violinist Joy Tedford, cellist Petia Kassarova and pianist Sally Wave grew up together, will make its first Vermont appearance at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester Center. Presented by Taconic Music artistic directors Joana Genova and Ariel Rudiakov, the concert program features works for piano trio: Rachmaninov, Turina, Trio Gardel, Piazzolla, Albert, and Staynov. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door.
After Tedford, Kassarova and Wave graduated from the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria, they all pursued individual professional opportunities in different places across the globe. Tedford and Kassarova moved to America, and Wave remained in Europe.
After more than two decades, they again once met in Bourgas and decided to perform again as a trio, celebrating their reunion in 2016 with a highly lauded concert in London.
This concert reflects Taconic Music's mission to bring music of the highest quality to the Northshire in all seasons of the year.
