The Checkup for Aug. 8: 6 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Vermont

The statistics supplied by the Vermont Department of Health at midday each day are accurate as of the end of the previous day.
The Vermont Department of Health on Saturday reported six new cases of COVID-19 in Vermont over the past day, bringing the cumulative total to 1,454. There were four new cases in Chittenden County, and two in Essex County.
Bennington County's cumulative total remains at 85.
No Vermonters died of the disease over the past day. The death toll remains at 58. One Vermonter is currently hospitalized with the disease.
So far, 101,803 tests have been administered.
The health department reported that 1,028 people were being monitored, a decrease of six over the past day. Of those, 996 are travelers to Vermont.The number of Vermonters reported to have recovered from COVID-19 rose by 12, to 1,272.
