The Checkup for Aug. 2: 12 new cases of COVID-19 reported over past 2 days

The statistics supplied by the Vermont Department of Health at midday each day are accurate as of the end of the previous day.
The Vermont Department of Health on Sunday reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 in Vermont over the past two days, bringing the cumulative total to 1,426.
Five of the new cases were in Chittenden County; Bennington County has one new case, bringing the cumulative total to 84.
No Vermonters died of the disease over the past two days. The death toll remains at 57.
Two Vermonters are currently hospitalized with the disease. So far, 94,368 tests have been administered.
The health department reported that 1,165 people were being monitored, an increase of 34 over the past two days. Of those, 1,137 are travelers to Vermont.
The number of Vermonters reported to have recovered from COVID-19 rose by 27, to 1,238.
