SVSU Board to consider candidate for assistant superintendent

The Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union board will consider a candidate for assistant superintendent later this month, part of an effort to replace former Assistant Superintendent Donna Leep.

The board will consider the candidate, who is Superintendent Jim Culkeen's choice for the job, at its upcoming meeting Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.

Derek Carson, public information coordinator for the supervisory union, declined to provide the candidate's name when reached Thursday afternoon.

Information about the candidate would be released publicly at the meeting, he said.

Leep was hired as assistant superintendent in 2012, filling a two-year vacancy.

Leep's resignation from her position as assistant superintendent of the SVSU went into effect Aug. 1 of this year, Carson confirmed.
