'Stuff the Bus' event to honor King's vision

BENNINGTON — In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s vision of banding together to help fight hunger, homelessness and poverty, Green Mountain RSVP is sponsoring a Stuff the Bus Food Drive on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Price Chopper in Bennington.

Green Mountain RSVP is sponsored by the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging. RSVP is a member of Senior Corps, a nationwide volunteer program for people age 55 and older who want to give their time and experience to strengthen their communities. Stuff the Bus is part of a national event called MLK Day of Service, led by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Donations received during this event will benefit seven local food pantries located throughout Bennington County. RSVP invites all to join them on this day of service to make a difference in the lives of others.
