Stratton Mountain offers Snowtime Learning


STRATTON — This winter, Stratton Mountain is going back to the basics and focusing on the foundations of skiing and snowboarding. Stratton Mountain Sports School is offering Snowtime Learning for beginners ages 4 and up, to share the passion of the mountains with those looking to get into winter sports.

On Saturday and Sunday, those looking to enter the winter sports community can join a free group lesson from 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a free learning area ticket. Ski and snowboard rentals are available for $20. First Time Experience Lessons will be limited to five students per instructor and grouped according to age. Participants will learn how to use equipment, snow safety, how to change directions, stop, and ride the magic carpet or chairlift. Those interested in participating should arrive at Junior Mountain Sports School at noon before heading to rentals for equipment. Space is limited and reservations are required by Thursday. Stratton will be offering its Learn to Ski and Learn to Ride programs for $99 any day, all season long. The program includes a 1 hour lesson with a snow sports professional as well as newly tuned rental equipment and a "Learning Zone" lift access ticket. For those looking to explore Stratton's peak and see all the terrain that awaits them, an all mountain access ticket can be added to the program for an additional $20.

Private lessons and group lessons are available. Stratton also offers multiple women's camps, designed to boost confidence and skiing and riding ability with like-minded women.
