BENNINGTON — The Bennington Free Library and the Bennington Museum will offer a story walk on the George Aiken Wildflower Trail on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Linda Donigan of the Bennington Free Library will read "If You Plant a Seed" by Kadir Nelson, this fall's Trail Tale. The program will also be available online.

"If You Plant a Seed" is a beautifully illustrated story about the power of kindness.

After the walk, participants will decorate pots and plant their own seeds to bring home. Those wishing to take part in the walk should meet at the Hadwen Pavilion, at the far end of the Bennington Museum parking lot.

Other ways to enjoy the story walk are to watch a recorded video, or come read and walk on your own. Activity packets will be available at either the Bennington Free Library or the Bennington Museum during regular open hours, so participants can plant seeds at home. Both the video and the activity packets will be available beginning Monday.

The Museum ABCs program is a collaboration between Bennington Museum and the Bennington Free Library. The program is intended for children ages 3 to 5 years and their adult companions and supports early literacy and a lifelong love of museums and learning. Museum ABCs is offered at no charge to participants, thanks to support from The Bank of Bennington.
