The year is circa 1906, and we've stepped into Hudson's Ice Cream and Candy Parlor, which is all decorated for Christmas. The shop was located next to the Bennington Opera House, which later became the General Stark Theater. "This was a busy place during intermissions of shows," said Tim Wager, who colorized the photo, "and word has it that there was a bell in the parlor attached to a string, and when the show was about to restart, the usher from the theater would ring the bell."
