Small business workshop scheduled
This event is free of charge and open to all current and prospective business owners who are interested in launching, growing or selling their businesses. Presenters include Deb Boudrieau and Stephen Paddock, from the Vermont Small Business Development Center, who will discuss resources for businesses in various stages —from startup to growth to transition for retirement. They can answer questions about how and where to get help with expertise and financing.
Don Jamison, executive director of the Vermont Employee Ownership Center, will give a deeper talk about succession planning. To be discussed are various paths for succession, and the pros and cons of each. Also to be discussed are what resources — lawyer, accountant, etc. — are needed to get there.
Drew Kervick, an attorney with Dunkiel Saunders, will answer some small business FAQ's, such as "Should I incorporate? and how?" John Meyer, an accountant with Piaciak and Co., will answer the most-asked accounting questions of small business owners. R.T. Brown and Adam Grinold of BDCC will also be on hand with more information about available loan programs and additional state and local resources.
Following a series of small-group, short-format presentations, there will be time for questions and networking. Find more information, and a link to register at wilmingtonworksvt.com.
