SHAFTSBURY — A Shaftsbury woman sustained possible injury in a crash Friday afternoon, officials say.

At about 2:14 p.m. last Friday, the Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 7A, just south of Hidden Valley Road, according to a media release from the Vermont State Police, Shaftsbury Barracks.

They determined through operator and witness statements that Barbara Hoard, 73, was driving a 2011 Nissan Altima northbound on Route 7A when the car drifted across the southbound lane and off the roadway, traveled up an embankment and flipped over, landing on all four tires.

Hoard was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center by Bennington Rescue for possible injuries.

The vehicle was totaled.

The Shaftsbury Fire Department responded to the scene and provided traffic control. The vehicle was removed by Walt's Towing.

The crash is under investigation.
