NORTH POWNAL — Puerto Rican food is coming back to Bennington County.

Rob Ramos, a Brooklyn, N.Y. native, plans to re-open his Puerto Rican food business, Rob's Rolling Rican Restaurant, which closed Aug. 24, 2018 after three months in business.

"We would like to let everyone know that we are getting closer to open," says a June 5 post on the business' Facebook page. "We are also making some changes to our menu, we are dropping a few items and adding a few new items. Sorry for the delay just making sure everything is perfect for you our valued guest."

As of Tuesday afternoon, the post had garnered 56 likes, 18 comments and six shares. The post did not specify an opening date.

Ramos could not be reached for comment.

The facility will be located just off Route 346; there will be a sign on Dean Road, straight to Furlong Road at the top of the hill on the left, another Facebook post says. The business' Facebook page lists its address as 99 Furlong Road in Pownal.

Ramos previously said his then-location, a dirt and gravel lot across from Stewart's Shops on Route 7, was bad — people didn't want to come out.

And he had days where he made only $50, he previously said. The mustard-yellow food truck was open Tuesday to Saturday, 12 p.m to 8:30 p.m. The Banner was unable to confirm what the hours of operation will be in the new location.

Ramos has previously worked in retail and food service, including multiple restaurants.
