Road work for the week of July 8

BENNINGTON — The following list of projects was provided by the Bennington Department of Public Works:

The Lincoln Street sidewalk continues to be closed from River Street to County Street. Highway crews will pouring and forming sidewalks and curbing. Workers and equipment will be in and on the edge of the roadway. Motorists should use caution when approaching this area and expect delays.

Putnam Street between Elm and Weeks streets will be closed Tuesday to through traffic while a water crew repairs a valve. Local traffic only will be accommodated. Workers and equipment will be in the roadway. Motorists will have to find alternate routes.

River Street between Benmont Avenue and Lincoln Street continues to be closed to through traffic while several crews work on its rehabilitation. Local traffic only will be accommodated. Workers and equipment will be in the roadway. Motorists will have to find alternate routes.

Washington Avenue between Elm and Weeks Streets will be closed Wednesday to through traffic while a water crew repairs a valve. Local traffic only will be accommodated. Workers and equipment will be in the roadway. Motorists will have to find alternate routes.

Townwide

Weed trimming continues across town at various locations. Motorists should use caution approaching these areas and expect delays. Mowing has temporarily been suspended while the roadside mower awaits repair.

Highway crews will be grading dirt and gravel roads across town all week, weather permitting. Workers and equipment will be in and on the edge of the roadways. Motorists should use caution and expect delays.
