Road work for the week of July 13
BENNINGTON — The following list of road projects for the coming week was supplied by the Bennington Department of Public Works. Motorists are asked to use caution and expect delays, as workers and equipment will be in roadways. All work is weather-dependent.
All roads in the Apple Hill Development will be reduced to one-lane traffic on Monday and Tuesday while the roads are prepared for paving. The paving work will be done Wednesday through Friday.
Burgess Road has been milled in preparation for paving.
Willow Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic for the next several weeks for PFOA water line extension work.
Carpenter Lane, Furnace Brook Road and North Branch Street will have lane restrictions as PFOA water line extension work continues.
Chapel Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic for the next several weeks as contractor crews begin setting up for the next phase of PFOA water line extension work.
East Road north of Houghton Lane will be closed to through traffic for the next three weeks as PFOA water line extension work continues.
Harwood Hill Road will have lane restrictions between Northside Drive and the Route 7 connector for PFOA water line extension work for the next several weeks.
Kocher Drive will have lane restrictions between Aldi's and Performance Drive for work on the sidewalk extension project.
Main Street between Depot Street and the Four Corners will be closed from 7 p.m. Monday - 5 a.m. Tuesday while a sewer crew and a contractor slip-line the sewer main. Detours will be in place. Motorists should schedule their time accordingly or find an alternate route.
Pratt Street will be reduced to one-lane traffic Thursday while a sewer crew rebuilds a manhole.
River Road between Route 67 and the Henry Bridge in North Bennington will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as the North Bennington highway crew ditches this area. Detours will be in place.
Route 67 at Royal Street on Tuesday will be reduced to one-lane traffic while a sewer crew rebuilds a manhole.
Weeks Street between South Street and Jefferson Avenue will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. as a highway crew replaces a culvert. Motorists should find an alternate route.
Townwide: A private contractor will continue roadside mowing throughout town.
