Road work for the week of Aug. 3

BENNINGTON — The following list of road projects for the coming week was supplied by the Bennington Department of Public Works. Motorists are asked to use caution and expect delays, as workers and equipment will be in roadways. All work is weather-dependent.

Burgess Road will be reduced to one lane between Center and Main streets as a water crew repairs valves in preparation for paving.

Gage Street will be closed on Monday and Tuesday between Safford and Grove streets as a contractor makes a new water connection for the Rec Center expansion project. Detours will be in place. This project was rescheduled from last week.

Kocher Drive will have lane restrictions between Aldi's and Performance Drive for work on the sidewalk extension project.

North Branch Street will be closed Wednesday between the Brooklyn Bridge and Bowen Road intersections while a highway crew replaces a culvert at the White Rocks parking lot. Detours will be in place.

Performance Drive will be reduced to one lane traffic all week as a crew mills the road for in preparation for new pavement.

Pleasant Street between North and School streets will be closed Tuesday while a water crew repairs a leaking water main.

Polygraphic Lane in North Bennington will be reduced to one-lane traffic for the next two weeks while a sewer main is replaced.

Townwide: Highway crews will continue roadside mowing throughout town. Sewer crews will be repairing manholes in various areas.
