Road work for the week of Aug. 26
The following road projects are scheduled for this week.
BENNINGTONBrooklyn Bridge, from County Street to Chapel Road will be closed to all traffic between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. while a contractor repairs and repaves the decking. Motorists are asked to use Park Street Bridge, or find another route to access North Branch Street locations.
Dewey Street, from Elm Street to Weeks Street, will be reduced to one-lane traffic on Tuesday only. Workers and equipment will be in the roadway. Motorists should use caution and expect delays.
Harwood Hill Road, from Orchard Road to the Route 7 connector, will be reduced to one-lane traffic for the next several weeks for PFOA Water Line Extension Work. Workers and equipment will be on the edges of the roadway. Motorists should use caution and expect delays.
River Street, from Benmont Avenue to Lincoln Street, continues to be closed to through traffic while several crews work on its rehabilitation. Local traffic only will be allowed. Motorists should find another route.
Willow Road, from Duffy Drive to East Road, will be closed for the next several weeks to through traffic for PFOA water line extension work. Local traffic only will be allowed. Motorists should find another route.
Townwide, the Water Department will be repairing curb stops and installing flushing hydrants in various areas. In addition, crews will be sealing manholes and patching roads across town. Motorists should use caution and expect delays.
SHAFTSBURYWest Mountain Road will be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The road will be closed from Blueberry Hill to Grouse Lane on Wednesday and Thursday, and from Route 7A to Grouse Lane on Friday. Local traffic only will be allowed.
JAMAICA-WINHALLA road reclaim project is under way along VT-30, from the intersection of VT-100 North to the intersection with VT-11 in Winhall. Motorists should expect multiple operations with alternating one-lane traffic, slower speed limits, and delays.
Paving continues along VT-11 this week, with alternating one-way traffic throughout. Expect delays.
WILMINGTON-STRATTONPaving activities along VT-100 this week. Motorists can expect work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. with alternating one-way traffic.
In observance of Labor Day, most crews on the state highway projects will end work by noon on Friday. Construction activities will resume after the Labor Day holiday.
