Worship, events at Second Congregational
Second Congregational Church is currently holding virtual services live via YouTube on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. The service live-stream is accessible at www.bennscc.org. The Rev. D. Mark Blank's sermon, titled "Context Context Context" is based on Matthew 18:10-20. The weekly service includes musical contributions by church musician Sue Green and music director Matt Edwards.
Second Congregational Church is an open and affirming, Green Justice Congregation of the United Church of Christ. It welcomes to its work and worship all people of faith or in search of faith, without regard to age, race, sex, economic condition, ability, sexual identity, gender identity, or citizenship. In addition, members seek to care and advocate for the earth and its creatures.

St. Peters will hold outdoor services
St. Peters will hold two outdoor services this weekend at the church lawn. Saturday evening, 5 p.m., Celtic Evening Prayer on Saturday (at a parishioner's home; contact firstname.lastname@example.org for reservations). In addition, two services on Sunday: Morning Prayer Rite I at 8 am and Morning Prayer Rite II at 10 a.m.To attend, you must register with the St Peter's office in advance: email@example.com.
All services have a maximum of 25 participants. St Peters will be following all safe guidelines of physical distancing and masks.
The Scripture readings for this weekend are: Exodus 1`2:1-4, Romans 13:8-14 and Matthew 18:15-20.
Communion Sunday Worship with the Federated Church
A warm invitation is extended to join in the 10 a.m. Service of Worship on Sunday live via Zoom with the Federated Church of East Arlington.
This week's Service will focus on Romans 13:8-14 with a message from the Rev. Kathy Clark titled, "Debt of Love." It is also Communion Sunday so everyone is encouraged to have some type of bread or cracker and juice or wine handy to participate at the Communion table from the comfort and safety of home.
The service will also be available for viewing later on the Federated Church of East Arlington YouTube channel as well as on GNAT-TV. Additional information, including the link to the service, can be found at the Federated Church website at federatedchurchofeastarlington.org.
Stop by the Federated Church table on Friday, Sept. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the final Arlington Farmers Market of the season for some baked goods and fresh produce.

United Methodist Church service in sanctuary
Shaftsbury United Methodist Church is reopening its church and invites all to worship in its sanctuary.
This week Pastor Richard McSherry will speak to us on "It will be done for you!" The church will also remember Sept. 11, 2001.
Masks are required before entering the building. Seating and distancing must be at least six feet apart during all gatherings. Hand sanitizer and additional masks are available if needed.
The church will not resume its Food/Fellowship Hour until further notice. The Sunday School tentative plan is to follow the public school guidelines. Re-opening will be announced. The Carpenter Shop Food Shelf continues to be open Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4:p.m. with no-contact pickup.

Back to School Special" lawn sale
First Baptist Church of Bennington Vermont announces it's "Back to School Special" lawn sale on on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items for sale include clothing and shoes for both adults and children and an assortment of children's toys. You can fill a tall kitchen bag for $5. Sale will take place on the front lawn of the First Baptist Church located at 601 Main St. Rain date is Sept. 26. Masks and social distancing required.
