Police: Spilled drink leads to single-vehicle crash in Stamford

BENNINGTON—A woman crashed her car in Stamford Tuesday after being distracted by a spilled drink, according to a Vermont State Police press release.

Lisa Dix, 28, of Whitingham, lost control of her 1996 Saturn and went off Main Road around 6:30 p.m., police said.

The release stated both Dix and her passenger were transported to Berkshire Medical Center for an evaluation; her passenger's hand was lacerated in the crash. Police also reported that Dix was not wearing a seatbelt.

Vermont State Police Sergeant Frank LaBombard said there was no damage to any property other than the vehicle and Dix has not been issued a citation at this time.
