Police: Man uninjured after motorcycle slid off road

POWNAL — A Bennington man was not injured after the motorcycle he was riding went off North Pownal Road late Thursday afternoon, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities responded after a one-motorcycle crash was reported at about 5:30 p.m., State Police Sgt. Seth Loomis said in a news release.

Mathew Burout, 24, was traveling east on North Pownal Road when he came to a sharp left-hand turn and lost control of his 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, which slid off the roadway. Burout was wearing a helmet and was not injured. The motorcycle sustained minor damage from the crash.

Members of the Bennington County Sheriff's Department, Pownal Rescue Squad and Pownal Fire Department assisted at the scene.
