Mystery novelist Hank Phillippi Ryan at Northshire Bookstore
MANCHESTER — The Bennington Banner, Manchester Journal and Northshire Books will host Hank Phillippi Ryan — an investigative reporter and the winner of multiple journalism and book awards — for a conversation about mysteries and journalism this evening at the bookstore.
Ryan will be in conversation with Kevin Moran, the executive editor of the Banner and Journal, to discuss her new book "Trust Me," a chilling novel of psychological suspense and manipulation, and the work of journalism.
The program is tonight from 6 to 8 at Northshire Books, 4869 Main St., Manchester Center. The event is free.
Phillippi Ryan is the on-air investigative reporter for Boston's WHDH-TV. She's won 34 Emmy Awards and dozens more journalism honors. The nationally bestselling author of 11 mysteries, Phillippi Ryan's also an award-winner in her second profession — with five Agathas, three Anthonys, two Macavitys, the Daphne, and for The Other Woman, the coveted Mary Higgins Clark Award.
Critics call her "a master of suspense" and "a superb and gifted storyteller," and she is the only author to have won the Agatha in four different categories: Best First, Best Novel, Best Short Story and Best Non-Fiction. Her novels have been named Library Journal's Best of 2014, 2015 and 2016.
"Trust Me" is standalone psychological suspense thriller, which Suspense Magazine's reviewer calls "By far one of the best thrillers I've read in years."
