Bennington Free Clinic

BENNINGTON -- The grief support group Living with Loss is held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Second Congregation Church, on Hillside Street

Adults coping with the loss of a loved one are invited to attend. Through support and safety, sharing and laughter, a new understanding and comfort can be found. There is no fee. Call VNA and Hospice of SVHC at 442-5502 or 447-4594 for more information.

H1N1 clinic in Manchester

MANCHESTER -- Manchester Health Services will hold a H1N1 Clinic on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. for the high risk population. The high-risk groups that qualify are:

Pregnant; A household contact or caregiver of a child younger than 6 months; age 6 months to 24 years; a health care or emergency medical services worker; age 25-64 years old who has a health condition associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza, such as heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, neurologic and neuromuscular conditions, weakened immune system, or if your physician states that you are at high risk.

This clinic is free and open to anyone in the priority group. Minors need to be accompanied by a parent.

'Bye Bye Birdie' at CCS

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- On Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., ‘Bye Bye Birdie' will be performed by the Cambridge Central School grade 5 to 8 Drama Club in the Cambridge auditorium. The show highlights a 1950s rock star who is being drafted into the U.S. Army. Tickets are $6 per person or $25 for a family and can be purchased at the Cambridge Elementary office. Parkinson's Support Group

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Parkinson's Support Group will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church on Hillside Street. The guest speaker will be physical therapist Gail O'Brien. Call 442-0612 for more information.

Discussion of Vt. economy

BENNINGTON -- Does the Vermont economy need health care? Tom Licata, founder of Vermonters for Economic Health, will address that question at 6:30 p.m. in a free special presentation in the Banknorth Room at the Bennington Free Library.

stroke screening

BENNINGTON -- Heart attack and stroke screening will be held from 2 to 7 p.m., by appointment only. Get one's pulse, blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar tested by SVMC registered nurses. Have a private consultation to determine risk for heart attack and stroke.

Small business orientation meeting

BENNINGTON -- SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), a national volunteer organization, will hold a small business orientation meeting for entrepreneurs, and people who might like to volunteer as a small business counselor, at 5 p.m. in the Chittenden Bank Branch, 401 Main St.

Anyone interested in a small business of their own, or interested in becoming a volunteer SCORE counselor, is welcome to attend. The meeting will last an hour.

BHS presents ‘Seth Warner'

BENNINGTON -- Join the members of the Bennington Historical Society at 7 p.m. when Clifford Mullen present the character of Seth Warner, the fascinating and, too many, impressive leader of the era of the War for Independence. The program is held at the Bennington Museum and is free and open to the public.

Health care disucssion

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Organizing Committee of the Health Care is a Human Right campaign, sponsored by the Vermont Workers Center will be presenting a series of discussions, beginning at 7 p.m. with Part 1 of "How Vermont Can Lead The Country and Why We Need Singlepayer Healthcare Now!" with Dr. Marvin Malek (Vermont Health Care for All), Phil Fiermonte from U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders' office, and James Haslam from VWC. The program will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 108 School St.

Bennington playgroups

BENNINGTON -- Success by Six sponsors a free playgroup for children ages birth to 6 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Willowbrook Community Room, Willow Road.

Tai Ji and Qi Gong class
