MAU, BBA compete at NE dance championships
In the pom, BBA scored a 171.50 to finish ninth, while MAU placed just behind them in 10th with a score of 152.50. Braintree (Mass.) finished first in the pom competition.
In hip hop, Burr and Burton placed 10th with a score of 193.15. Fairfield Warde (Conn.) won the hip hop competition.
SVC volleyball falls
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Southern Vermont College was topped 3-0 Saturday afternoon by both Johnson & Wales University and Emmanuel College in a men's volleyball tournament at JWU's Wildcat Center.
Southern Vermont dropped its first match of the day by scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-8. Mountaineer sophomore Te Hayward had a team-best five kills while adding four digs as senior captain El Olivares had three kills and an SVC-high 11 digs.
The hosting Wildcats downed SVC to end the day in straight-set scores of 25-8, 25-15, and 25-8.
SVC (0-13) is now off until Wednesday, March 21 when the Mountaineers visit Newbury College for a 7 p.m. start and the second New England Collegiate Conference meeting of the year between the two.
40th annual Zem-Benn set for May 6
NORTH BENNINGTON — The 40th Zem/Benn Road Race is scheduled for Sunday, May 6, at the Park McCullough house in North
Bennington. The kids fun run begins at 9:30 a.m. and the 3.8 mile and 10K races start at 10 a.m.

Masters Swim Meet in Bennington
BENNINGTON — The seventh annual Monumental Masters Mini Meet will be held in Saturday, April 7, at the Bennington Recreation Center pool on Gage Street. Adults 18 years and older are encouraged to swim, no prior competition experience is required.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Bennington Marauders Swim Team, helping to provide youth swimming for our community.
Warm-ups start at 9 a.m. with the meet's first event beginning at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is $20 per swimmer by April 3, or $25 the day of event. Registration forms are available at the Rec Center or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Bennington Horseshoe Club
The Bennington Horseshoe Club will host four tournaments for the upcoming season.
They will host the Spring Warm Up on May 6, Leon O'Dell Classic on May 27, Cooper Family Classic on July 22 and the Vermont State Doubles on August 26.
The league will be held in the summer months starting on April 23 and each Monday for 16 weeks.
Sign ups for the league will be held on April 14 and 15 at noon on the courts at Willow Park.

MALA is a youth lacrosse program from kindergarten to 8th grade for boys and girls representing Bennington, North Bennington, Woodford, Pownal and Shaftsbury.
Their boys and girls U9 instructional team season starts on April 9 and practices two days a week. Their boys and girls U11, U13 and U15 travel teams practice three to four days a week and their season starts on April 2.

First Memorial Soccer Classic in Manchester
MANCHESTER — The town of Manchester will host the Memorial Soccer Classic on Memorial Day weekend, May 26-27 at Dana Thompson Park.
The tournament is open to girls and boys from U10, U12, U14 and U17 teams.
Note that this is not a Premiere Tournament (there are so many choices in the NE for Div1/Premiere). The Manchester Classic is envisioned as a Div2 /3 Family "destination" tournament.
