Motorcyclist cited for doing 112 in 55 mph zone

SUNDERLAND — A Pennsylvania man was cited on Sunday afternoon after he was caught on radar doing 112 miles per hour on Route 7 in the town of Sunderland.

Vermont State Police said on Sunday around 3:26 p.m., Andrew D. Baranello, 28, of Willow Grove, Penn., was spotted on Route 7 traveling north on a motorcycle at a high rate of speed. Police said that radar indicated the speed at 112 miles per hour. The speed limit on that part of Route 7 is 55 miles per hour.

Baranello was stopped and issued a citation for excessive speed. He is to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Bennington Criminal Division on July 6 at 8:15 a.m.
