Local duo plans album release

BENNINGTON — Local surf-grunge duo Immune Friction will be releasing a full-length album next week.

"Roaming Desolate Neighborhoods" will be released April 6, with a mini-tour beginning April 12 to promote it. They are hosting an "album release extravaganza" at Harvest Brewing on April 6 at 7 p.m.

"Our upcoming album gets back to our heavy/rocking roots with some more metal elements on a few songs," said drummer Justine Curry, who plays alongside Manhattan-born singer-songwriter Chris Dayton.

The 10 tracks were recorded with Don Fury in Troy, New York. Fury has also produced two albums and an EP with the band.

Immune Friction started out as a solo project for Chris Dayton and has grown to include Pittsfield, Massachusetts, native Curry on drums and supporting vocals. Their first studio album together, "The Markets Never Sleep," was well-received and the duo released two follow-ups including an EP and an album recorded live at Bennington's South Street Cafe.
