Local athletes finish up collegiate seasons
Many former local high school athletes, who moved on to play at the collegiate level, have finished up their respective seasons. Let's take a look at how they fared this spring.
Jamie Boyle (MAU): Boyle, a freshman catcher, played for the Castleton softball team. She batted .313 with three home runs and 21 RBIs, good for third on the team. She hit six doubles and had a slugging percentage of .515 on the year for the 15-17 Spartans.
Ashlee Billert (MAU): Billert, a freshman infielder, played for the Sage College softball team, where she hit .379 in 29 at-bats for the Gators. She had 11 hits and five RBIs for the 11-25 Sage squad.
Taylor Dicranian (MAU): Dicranian, a freshman pitcher, played for the Sage College softball team, where she appeared in 18 games and started seven. She pitched 51.2 innings and struck out 10 batters during her freshman campaign. At the plate, she batted .320 and has five runs batted in.
Miranda Seacord (Cambridge): Seacord, a freshman outfielder, played for the Dean College softball team, where she hit .356 on the year with 13 RBIs and 30 runs scored. She was a constant threat on the base paths for the Bulldogs with 28 steals, which led the New England Collegiate Conference and was 17 more than the next best mark for Dean.
Max Hoffer (Cambridge): Hoffer, a freshman midfielder, played for the Clarkson men's lacrosse team, where he scored one goal and dished out one assist. Hoffer had nine ground balls in his 16 games played for the 8-8 Golden Knights.
Brianna Zipprich (MAU): Zipprich, a sophomore attacker, played for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute women's lacrosse team, where she competed in 12 games and scored six goals, along with 11 shots on goal for the 8-6 RPI squad.
Carly Plaisance (MAU): Plaisance, a sophomore goalkeeper, played for the Sage College women's lacrosse, where she appeared in 15 games this year and made three starts. She made 64 saves on the year for the 2-13 Gators.
Baylee Ports (MAU): Ports, a senior pitcher, played for the Division I Fairleigh Dickinson softball team. Ports posted 3.78 earned run average, the second-best mark of her college career, along with six wins and 91 strikeouts on the season. Ports started 22 games and pitched 120 1/3 innings for the 14-35 Knights. She finished her college career with 16 wins.
Kori Bow (MAU): Bow, a junior infielder, played for the Eastern Nazarene softball team, where she's hit .376 with three home runs during her junior campaign. Bow scored 27 runs and stole bases for the 29-15 ENC squad that won the NECC championship this spring.
Erika Quackenbush (Hoosick Falls): Quackenbush, a junior infielder/pitcher, played for the MCLA softball team. She hit .323 on the year with two home runs and 20 RBIs. Quackenbush had a pair of doubles, triples and steals with a slugging percentage of .448 for the 14-21 Trailblazers.
Sydney Miller (Hoosick Falls): Miller, a sophomore third baseman/catcher, played for the SUNY Potsdam softball team, where she batted .269 with a team-high two home runs, along with 17 RBIs. Miller had six doubles, good for second on the team.
Trey Lang (MAU): Lang, a sophomore midfielder, played for the Castleton men's lacrosse team, where he played in 12 games, scored one goal and dished out three assists. Lang took seven shots and grabbed six ground balls this year.
Ryan Duddy (BBA): Duddy, a sophomore defenseman, played for Curry College men's lacrosse team, where he had 15 ground balls on the year and started seven games for the 9-9 squad.
Carter Vickers (BBA): Vickers, a sophomore midfielder, played for the Colby College men's lacrosse team, where he scored 10 goals, up from his total of four his freshman year. In 15 games play, Vickers had 24 shots on goal and picked up eight ground balls for the 8-7 Mules.
Tom Grabher (BBA): Grabher, a freshman attacker, played for the Castleton men's lacrosse team, where he played in nine games and had one assist. Grabher had six ground balls and four shots on the year.
Maxx Ingison (BBA): Ingison, a sophomore goalkeeper, played for the Castleton men's lacrosse team, where he made 42 saves in eight games of action. Ingison's goals against average was 11.26 goals per game.
Mikaela McMahon (BBA): McMahon, a sophomore midfielder, played for the Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team, where she played in two games and registered one shot on goal for the 3-12 squad.
Lydia Morgantini (BBA): Morgantini, a sophomore defender, walked on for the Division I Bucknell women's lacrosse team that is 4-12 on the year. Morgantini appeared in five games and scooped up three ground balls.
