To the Editor:

With reference to the letter from Charles Putney published on Oct. 22, what medical services has the board of SVMC decided will not be available to patients? When was the decision made and why were we, the general public, (AKA potential patients), not informed at the time? Assumptions may be made but the information should be made public so potential patients, and potential donors, can make personal decisions based on the facts. After all, one doesn't want to arrive at the only hospital in this area expecting medical care and be told sorry, we won't take care of you, you'll have to go somewhere else.

Carole Sheringham,
