Letter: Why I love Woodford

To the Editor:

I offer a camp on Airbnb in Woodford. It has been well received among guests who, like many from Bennington, come to enjoy our unspoiled beauty. Recent guests have given me a new perspective that speaks to the true nature of Woodford folk. They wrote:

"Stone's Camp is a dream come true. Off grid, it makes for the perfect getaway. The dirt road leads you along a lovely stream to Chuck's impressive lodge. Just far enough after that on the left is the cabin. The kitchen is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed cooking in it. The bathroom is unbelievable and the view from the throne indescribable.

"The cabin has electricity and gas lights but no cell service, which was just right for us. Chuck is indescribably hospitable. We had some trouble (our fault) getting to the camp (follow his directions! Do not use Waze!) and Chuck came and rescued us in the middle of the night. The following day he gathered his pals to help us with some car trouble resulting from followed Waze. I have stayed in a fair amount of Airbnbs, and this is a must return for me. Highly recommended!!"

Norm LeBlanc and Mark Sawyer came to the rescue and hauled their stranded vehicle out of an ATV trail near Sucker Pond. The guests were more than impressed by the friendliness and cooperation of the usual cast of characters along Burgess Road in Woodford. I am blessed to be able to call Woodford my home.
