Letter: Voting in Bennington on school merger

To the Editor:

I would like to encourage the voters of the Bennington School District to participate in the School Governance Merger vote to be held on Nov. 7. Ballots are now available at the town clerk's office. The office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of Monday, Nov. 6, when we will close at noon in order to prepare for the election. You may vote in person at the town clerk's office during regular business hours or have a ballot mailed to you by calling the town clerk's office at 802-442-1043. Vermont state law allows anyone who wants to cast an early ballot to do so without giving any reason.

Voting for Bennington School District residents will be at the Bennington Firehouse at the corner of River and Lincoln Streets. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Additionally, the sample ballot can be viewed on our website at http://benningtonvt.org/departments/town-clerk/elections/sample-ballots/ . It is a very lengthy ballot, so I encourage you to review it ahead of time online or stop by the office for a copy.

Cassandra Barbeau

Bennington Town Clerk
