To the Editor:

The Vermont Center for Independent Living held our 10th Annual Holiday Open House on Friday, Dec. 13 at the First Baptist Church in Bennington. It was a time for our peers, their family members, and community members to celebrate the holidays, enjoy a light meal, listen to music provided by Larry Betit and James Tennyson and have a visit with Santa.

We would like to thank the following local businesses for their donations which made this event so successful. Thanks to: Bringing You Vermont, Henry's Market, Chili's, the Publyk House, Hannaford, Ramunto's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Burger King.

We would also like to thank all those that attended, attendees that brought an item to share, our musicians, Green Mountain Community Network, the First Baptist Church, and above all, Santa Claus, for attending and sharing gifts with us.

See everyone next year!

Colleen Arcodia,

The writer is a peer advocate councilor with the Vermont Center for Independent Living.
