Letter: Short-haired dogs need protection from cold

Posted
To the Editor:

I am a person who likes to walk my dog. And I am not alone, as I see many people out walking their dogs.

I would like to point out something to these dog loving people. Shorthaired dogs need a coat to be out in the cold winter. I have seen many without coats, especially little dogs.

Years ago, the handsome Doberman who was guarding the school buses was left outside and he froze to death! He was a beautiful shorthaired dog, but not much fur to keep him warm.

So please people be aware if your dog if shorthaired and buy him a coat or make him a custom-made one.

Shaftsbury
