To the Editor:

On Nov. 6, you have a decision to make. In the Bennington-4 district there are three people running for two seats to represent you in the Vermont Legislature: Kathleen James, Cynthia Browning and Brian Keefe.

The ballot will say you can vote for two, but there is really only one choice and that is Kathleen James. Kathleen is very smart and has a proven track record of good, effective public advocacy. As a former state representative, I can assure you that these traits are very helpful, but Kathleen's ability to be effective is the trait that makes her the most qualified candidate.

Of the three running for two seats, Kathleen James has proven to be effective in everything she does. It's for this reason that I will cast only one vote, and that vote will be for Kathleen James.

Bob Stannard,

Manchester Center
