Letter: 'Most racist' label doesn't fit county

To the Editor:

I try not to write "knee jerk reaction" letters to the Editor. This is an exception. In an article in the October 23 issue of the Banner, Kiah Morris is quoted as saying, "In recent reports, we have seen that Bennington County is anecdotally considered to be the most racist county in the entire state."

This coming from the person voted by the same Bennington County voters to be the first black woman in almost 30 years to be elected to Vermont's legislature, according to the article in the Banner.

To me, this seems an odd statement for her to make.
