Letter: A colorful proposal for empty storefronts

To the Editor:

Empty storefronts are not scenic and they don't welcome visitors to our town.

Maybe we could have big colorful posters in the windows telling why the stores are empty. The posters could describe the planned renovation of the Putnam Block and show Bennington in a positive light. These would also work for other empty businesses not in the Putnam Block.

We need to advertise the renovation of the historic Putnam Hotel so visitors don't just see empty windows and think "failed businesses." We should show that we are proud of our town.

J.S. Holly,
