NORTH BENNINGTON — The Leo Yucht Quartet will perform at Powers Market at 7 p.m. on May 17, as the Vermont Arts Exchange's Basement Music Series continues. For this Powers After Hours performance, the market will be transformed for the evening into an intimate jazz club, with homemade pizza from the Powers kitchen available.

Yucht, a "Bennington boy," graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in 2013 and then headed off to William Paterson University, graduating from there in 2017. His group played at Greenwall Auditorium on Sunday, performing a commissioned work in conjunction with the Sage City Symphony.

Based in New York City, Yucht continues to forge ahead, drumming and composing in the world of jazz. He performs regularly in the New York metropolitan area with his band and also as a sideman with other world-renowned jazz artists. He has performed with some of the most acclaimed musicians in the world including Jon Batiste, Aaron Goldberg, Harold Mabern and many more. Yucht's bandmates have played and recorded with Peter Bernstein, Francisco Mela, Brian Lynch and Wycliffe Gordon, to name just a few.

The evening will feature a cash bar by Thyme Tables Catering of Shaftsbury as well as home cooked pizza by Powers Market, so come by earlier. Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance, $20 at the door if the show is not sold out. Student tickets are $10.
