Lebanon Valley Speedway to open 67th season Saturday


WEST LEBANON, N.Y. — The 67th season of racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway [https://www.lebanonvalley.com/lvs-home] is set to roll on Saturday night.

First up on the half-mile, high-banked clay track — known as the Valley of Speed — will be a racing program with all divisions except small block modifieds running. There will be a $5,000 to win big block modified feature.

The gates will open for spectators at 5 p.m., and racing will continue until 10 p.m. Lebanon Valley Speedway is located in New Lebanon, halfway between Pittsfield, Mass., and Albany on Route 20.

This season of dirt racing at the track will include a wide variety of racing and related events over two dozen Saturday nights, with a few mid-week programs as well.

The schedule includes racing in the modified, small block, sportsman, pro stock, pure stock and the four-cylinder classes.

Also scheduled are the annual Eve of Destruction (One Night of Extreme Mayhem) demolition derby-orientated program, on July 2; a modified King of the Track feature, July 13; Tony Stewart's All-Star Sprint Car Series, on July 14; 4 Nights of Monster Jam, July 21-24; a $500 to win demolition derby plus racing, July 27; The Legends of the Valley night, Aug. 3; Halloween in August night, Aug. 17, and 100-lap Modified Super Dirt feature and a King of Dirt Sportsman Series race, on Aug. 31.
