Juvenile faces aggravated assault charge

Posted
POWNAL— A juvenile was taken into Vermont Department of Children and Families custody Friday evening after police say the juvenile threatened another with a knife.

Vermont State Police responded to the Alta Gardens Trailer Park around 5 p.m. for the report of a juvenile problem. After investigation revealed the juvenile threatened another juvenile with a knife, the suspect was taken into custody and was issued court-ordered juvenile conditions to appear in the family division of Bennington County Superior Court on Monday to answer to the charge of aggravated assault, according to a VSP press release.

As of Monday morning, the juvenile remained at the Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility in Essex.

Vermont state law mandates that when a case takes place in Family Court, records about the proceedings are not made public, so it is not clear what plea was entered by the juvenile.
