Hoosick Falls woman dies in 3-vehicle crash
PITTSTOWN, N.Y. — State police have identified the victim of a three-car accident here on Route 7 on Saturday as Lorraine M. Armstrong, 49, of Hoosick Falls.
The accident occurred when Armstrong's eastbound vehicle crossed the double yellow line near Baker Road, just east of the Tomhannock Reservoir. One westbound vehicle swerved off the road and rolled over, while a second westbound vehicle collided head-on with Armstrong's vehicle. Two nine-year-old girls who were in the car with Armstrong remain hospitalized, but are expected to recover, state police said. Their names were not released.
The crash occurred around 11:45 a.m.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is assisting.
Route 7 was closed to traffic between Parker School Road and Reservoir Lake Road until 3:30 p.m.
State police were assisted by the Pittstown and Brunswick fire departments, five ambulance companies, the State Department of Transportation and numerous other emergency responders.
