Hoosick Falls St. Patrick's Parade takes place Saturday


HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. — The Village of Hoosick Falls St. Patrick's Day Parade takes place on Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m. This years grand marshal is well known Hoosick Falls resident James "Jim" Shaw.

Participating bands in this year's parade are the Fyfes & Drumms of Olde Saratoga, Taconic Pipe Band, Hoosick Falls Pep Band, The Yankee Doodle Band and the Berkshire Highlanders Pipe Band. The parade will also feature floats, fire trucks and dancers. The parade will begin in Wood Park, and head down Main Street, John Street, Church Street, Willard Street and back down Main Street, returning to Wood Park. The parade will line up at 12:20 p.m., and step off at 1 p.m.

After the parade, spectators are invited to enjoy the Irish Festival, which will feature a variety of events at various locations around the town of Hoosick. The Hoosick Armory will host an event with great Irish music, Craic Agus Ceol, Irish dance with The Hubbard Hall Irish Dancers and corned beef sandwiches and food from Jeans Place. There is still time to enter floats, marchers, antique cars and more.
