HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. — The community of Hoosick Falls, New York, is seeking an opportunity to become a Purple Heart Community in 2020. A committee of village and town residents has been formed and is seeking information on anyone who lived or lives in the town of Hoosick, and received a Purple Heart.

The goal of the committee and the Town of Hoosick is to gather as many names as possible by National Purple Heart Day, which is Aug. 7.

Families are asked to contact organizers with the name of the Purple Heart recipient and when it was awarded. Information should be sent to the Hoosick Township Historical Society, PO Box 536, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090. For more information, call 518-686-4682, or email staff@hoosickhisotry.com.
