Ted Elliman, plant ecologist and author of Wildflowers of New England, will bring his 30 years of botanical work and experiences, including as contract ecologist for the National Park Service, to Hildene. He has written numerous articles on botanical subjects for conservation organizations, scientific journals, and state and federal environmental agencies and is currently a plant ecologist for The Native Plant Trust in Framingham, Massachusetts. Supervision of the site’s invasive species control programs is among his responsibilities at the Trust.

Elliman’s presentation, “Early Detection/Rapid Response,” is designed to help people identify the invasive plants that will be making their way into southern Vermont soon and what to do about them.
