Heavy snow, ice expected today
A storm is expected to bring a mix of heavy snow and ice to southern Vermont today.
The National Weather Service in Albany predicted Monday that snow accumulations could reach 8 to 14 inches, with ice accumulations of a light glaze expected. Wind gusts as high as 45 mph were expected.
Travel could be very difficult to impossible, the NWS advised. Hazardous travel conditions were expected to affect this evening's commute, with snow falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
The Vermont Veterans' Home on Monday cancelled its board of trustees meeting that had been scheduled for today.
