Gastroenterologist joins SVHC
Qamar is board certified in internal medicine, and specializes in comprehensive treatment of the digestive system. She received her medical degree from King Edward Medical College Lahore, Pakistan. She completed research training at University of Toledo Medical Center, her internal medicine residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, and an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited gastroenterology fellowship at University of Toledo Medical Center, all in Ohio.
Qamar is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterological Association. She is an author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented at various national gastroenterology conferences. She has received several honors throughout her education, including chief gastroenterology fellow during 2017-18.
The gastroenterology practice at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center is a part of the SVMC Multispecialty Practice. Its fellowship-trained gastroenterologists diagnose and treat a full range of digestive disorders including disorders of the stomach, esophagus, intestines, liver and pancreas. With their supporting medical team, they focus on evaluating and managing conditions with the aim of restoring good digestive health. In addition, the practice offers Saturday hours for colonoscopy screenings.
