Doctor joins SVMC Emergency Department
McDonald received his medical degree from Touro Nevada School of Medicine and completed a residency in family medicine at the Trios Health Family Medicine in Washington state. Before that, he earned a bachelor's in classical studies at Middlebury College and completed a post-baccalaureate premedical program. McDonald has worked in the emergency department of Newport Hospital and Health Services in Washington. He is board certified in family medicine.
In addition to his education and work experience, McDonald has conducted scholarly research in hospital-acquired infections and preoperative evaluation. He has volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and Ambassadors for Hope in Washington, DC. In 2004, he volunteered teaching English at a vocational school in Tanzania.
