With temperatures approaching 90 degrees on Thursday, Lake Paran in North Bennington couldn't have timed its delayed opening better. Normally opening on Memorial Day weekend, the popular recreational spot was kept closed for more than six weeks by Gov. Phil Scott's executive orders designed to slow the spread of the coronavirus. "We have lifeguards and new rules to comply with the regulations," Alisa Del Tufo, the chair of Paran Recreation's board, told the Banner. Among the new rules are signing in and out each day, wearing a wrist band and providing contact information for potential contact tracing if necessary. The lake is open daily from noon to 6 p.m.
