Conservation District welcomes new manager

BENNINGTON -- Katy Crumley has joined the Bennington County Conservation District as the new district manager. Crumley recently began managing the district after long-time manager Shelly Stiles retired. Crumley has a background in wildlife and habitat management, having worked for VT Fish and Wildlife and the US Forest Service. She has also held several farming positions at local organic farms.

Crumley will lead BCCD and its community supported mission: to promote rural livelihoods and protect natural resources in Southwestern Vermont. BCCD's current projects include habitat restoration, green infrastructure, agriculture technical assistance, stormwater management, and land management and education.
