Enjoy tea and Frost at Oldcastle Theatre

Oldcastle's second Literary Tea and fund-raiser will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. Lea Newman, the author of "Robert Frost — The People, Places and Stories Behind His New England Poetry" will be reading some of his poetry and discussing his life.

This will be an afternoon English tea with sweet and savory treats and a special Robert Frost tea blended for the event by Simpson & Vail. Tickets are $25 and can be obtained at Oldcastle Theatre (phone 802 447-0564) and The Bennington Bookshop, where they can be bought only by cash or check. Last year's tea, with Newman discussing the poetry of Emily Dickinson, sold out, so get your tickets early.

Bennington Baroque presents 'Handel at Home'

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, Bennington Baroque presents "Handel at Home," that is, Handel as played and heard in 18th-century salons, on instruments of the period. Performers include Sandra Mangsen, harpsichord; Mathieu Langlois, baroque flute; Emily Hale, baroque violin; and Andr Laurent O'Neil, baroque cello, with Kerry Ryer-Parke, soprano. Boy Scout troop holds bake sale, bottle drive

The Boy Scouts will be having a bake sale and bottle drive on Saturday, March 30 in front of the Arlington Community House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drop off your returnables and pick up a sweet treat at the same time. All money raised will be used for future Boy Scout activities.

Dorset Church Rummage Sale coming soon

The Dorset Church Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, May 4. Organizers will take donations from Monday, April 29 until Wednesday, May 1. This is a change, since items have traditionally been taken an additional day. A tremendous amount of hard work goes into sorting, sizing and preparing items for the sale. The selling begins at 8:30 a.m. outside and 9 a.m. inside. The church is located at 143 Church St. (off Route 30) in Dorset. for more information, call 802-867-2260 or email dorsetchurch@gmail.com.
