BENNINGTON — The Bennington County Choral Society will perform "Parables," a commissioned work by Robert Livingston Aldridge that tells a unique story about the intertwining of religious faiths in text and music, on Friday and Saturday at Oldcastle Theatre. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The chorus is led by director/conductor Cailin Marcel Manson, and accompanied on two grand pianos played by local musician and teacher, Matt Edwards, and Ken Olsson, music director of the Springfield Community Chorus in Vermont.

The chorus will be joined by soprano soloists Iris Fairfax and Julie Olsson, tenor Joshua Collier and baritone Nicholas Tocci.

Manson will be conducting at pre-talk about the work 45 minutes before concert time. A silent auction will be offered before and after each concert.

Oldcastle Theatre is located at 331 Main St., Bennington.
