Castleton University recognizes student achievement

The following students were named to the dean's list at Castleton. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester GPA of 3.5.

Saron Alemu of Hoosick, N.Y.; Veronica Bisson of Pownal, D'Andra Brown of Bennington, Elisabeth Budde of Arlington, Noelle Cave of Bennington, Hailey Godette of West Pawlet, Wazirgul Hashimi of Manchester Center, Summer Lampron of Bennington, Lias Levin of Shaftsbury, Emily Maier of Manchester Center, Lydia Maier of Manchester Center, Casey Moon of Bondville, Brianna Murray of Bennington, Daelyn Peterson of Stamford, Brittany Renouf of Bennington, Adam Shortsleeve of Shaftsbury, Brooke Therriault of Arlington, Paul Vigue of Dorset, Nicholas Williams of East Arlington, Shane Wood of Bennington.

The following students were named to the president's list for the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. To qualify for this highest academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester GPA of 4.0: Jamie Boyle of Pownal, Audry Brown of Bennington, Nadia Cox of Pawlet, Katherine Doucette of Shaftsbury, Pauline Evans of Pawlet, David Malinowski of Bennington, Alexa Ritchie of Manchester Center, Katie Saunders of Bennington, Emily Taylor of Manchester Center, Nancy Tortorice of Cambridge, N.Y.

The Academic Excellence Award is given annually to a student who is deemed the top student in his or her major. The following students were honored for the 2019-2020 academic year: William Jacob of West Pawlet, for English and Brooke Therriault of Arlington for Nursing.

Castleton student Katherine Doucette of Shaftsbury was recently awarded the SGA Nursing/Medical Service Award for the 2019-2020 academic year. This award is given annually to any member of the Castleton Nursing program who has stepped into the line of duty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Castleton student Elisabeth Budde of Arlington was recently awarded the CHANGE Peer Advocate of the Year Award for the 2018-2019 academic year. This award is given annually to a Peer Advocate for CHANGE who has dedicated themselves to being an informed educator and dedicated advocate on our campus.
