Car flips, hits tree in East Dorset

EAST DORSET— A Volkswagen Golf sustained heavy damage Thursday night after the driver lost control on a snow-covered road and crashed into a tree, police say.

Vermont State Police were called to Dorset Hill Road near Morse Hill Road around 10:53 p.m. for the crash. They later determined that the driver, a 46 year-old man of East Dorset, lost control and drove into a ditch, flipped over onto the passenger's side, and hit a tree, according to a VSP press release.

While the car sustained heavy damage to the driver's side, windshield, and front end, the driver did not suffer injuries, police say. The driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Police were assisted by the Dorset Fire Department and Manchester Rescue, and the car was towed from the scene by Paul's Towing.
